ACAT8004 Design Structures A

A two-hour seminar in Semester 1.
Prerequsite Completion or co-enrolment in Computer Programming A or equivalent.
Aim To acquire a basic understanding of conceptual compositional structures and their application to the visual and sonic domains.
Content An overview of the fundamental principles of mathematical thinking, including principles such as ratio, set, number, relation and group, Euclidian geometry, recursion and automata, calculus, circular functions and spectral analysis, probability and Markov processes, algorithmic procedures, iterated function systems and Fourier transforms.
Assessment Assignments involving the application of some of the above topics-100%.
